This is the fixed map of the statue around Chulalongkorn University.
The diagram shows in triangular form as placed the statue on top because people respect the statue and praise. Below the statue is the people behavior of how they are so desperate that they need to go ask the statue for something then they got what they want and they buy something for the statue back in return.
I'm working on the program and model. I will post it soon.

Hi Or,
ReplyDeleteI appreciate that you are trying to make your drawings a bit unconventional, but unfortunately they are not terribly clear. First of all, it is very difficult to understand the diagrams at the bottom of your pyramids. I emailed you "The Function of Ornament." Please note just how clear his diagrams are. Please try building the monuments in Rhino and make line drawing axons using "make 2d". Your choice of framing your research in a triangle seems random and unproductive. You can communicate the importance of the particular image without framing your information in some random geometric shape. Also, please invest more energy and creativity in the telling of the story of how each statue is venerated--the stick figures are neither compelling nor reflective of much effort. You created one of the finest collages in the last project, so you should produce a much more evocative depiction of behavior. Finally, you are abstracting your site plans far too much. You are an architect, so you should have better site plans, which show roads, building foot prints, and other essential information that tells us how your sites can be accessed; do not just show us an abstracted purple shape and expect us to learn anything from it. Please revise these site plans and substitute your colorful blobs with site plan lines.
Please come to class tomorrow with a clear site plan; a model of your concept; a program; and a site plan depicting where you are locating your design and an argument for why. Also, please make revisions, as suggested above, to your drawings. Please do as much of this as you possibly can tonight so that we can have a productive start tomorrow afternoon.
